Communities across Venezuela continue to recover after two devastating earthquakes and ongoing aftershocks. Authorities have declared a national state of emergency, with more than 1,000 people confirmed dead, thousands injured, and millions of people affected.

Local Nazarene leaders are assessing damage as communication with some churches remains limited. One congregation lost its worship space when the movie theater where it met was destroyed, and some church members have also lost their jobs due to damaged workplaces and businesses.

Church leaders are gathering for prayer, coordinating assessments, and exploring opportunities to provide humanitarian and medical assistance in the days ahead.

To support, GIVE NOW or GIVE through your local church.  Please include this memo on your check or online giving app to your local church:  Project ID - 140149.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.  "May they prosper who love you.  May peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces."  Psalm 122:6-7 (NASB)

Conflict, displacement, economic crises, political instability–these ongoing struggles impact millions of people across the Middle East. Basic survival can feel like an overwhelming challenge when food costs soar or once-safe neighborhoods turn dangerous. In the midst of turmoil, Nazarene churches are providing essential compassionate care ranging from food vouchers and education for children to spiritual and psychological support.

Your gift will sustain vital expressions of Christ’s hope and healing for traumatized communities. Please select GIVE NOW or GIVE through LifeSong Church of the Nazarene and include this memo on your check or online giving app:  Project ID - 123595.

A series of wildfires devastated parts of Maui in Hawaii, killing dozens of people and destroying the historic town of Lahaina. The wildfires are the deadliest in the U.S. in more than a century. The Church of the Nazarene in Hawaii is responding to this crisis, with Nazarene congregations on Maui serving as evacuation shelters and providing food, bedding, clothes, toiletries, and other emergency supplies to evacuees. Your gift will support these efforts and a long-term future response as the island rebuilds.

To support, GIVE NOW or GIVE through your local church.  Please include this memo on your check or online giving app to your local church:  Project ID - 140029.

*We Unite in Prayer*

Father of all mercies and God of all comfort,

look with love on all who are suffering during this time of strife and warfare. Protect the defenseless, comfort the children, heal the wounded, and sustain the refugee and hungry. Turn hearts to lay down weapons. Open to all a way of reconciliation and lead us to be peacemakers in our own spheres, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, the Prince of Peace.

Amen.

There are more people fleeing home than ever before.

As of 2019, 79.5 million individuals have fled violence, persecution, extreme poverty, and increasing climate crises in their home countries without any guarantee of ever returning. They are seeking safety, opportunity, and a chance to live with dignity. Those who flee often end up living in poverty, with insufficient food, clothing, and shelter. On top of physical needs, they are also coping with grief and trauma.

Around the world,

• 82.4 million people are forcibly displaced, a number that has risen exponentially in the last several years
• Half of those living as refugees are children, who often travel alone or in groups, making them especially vulnerable to human trafficking and other forms of violence
• On average, people will spend about 17 years living displaced.
